If there were ever a man not to fuck with, Kimbo Slice would be the man to come and put that man on his ass. Kimbo is the newest beast to hit the MMA circuit and has so far been a fairly imposing force within the ring. However, myself and those in my close circle of peers (mom and dad) have come to the conclusion that the man is not meant for the mixed martial arts world. The man is obviously good at it of course, but his skill with his fists and speed should shine elsewhere. Take the spotlight back to the dying sport of champions and a weight class that hangs low and heavy with the names of such great athletes as Joe Frazier, Muhammad Ali and George Foreman. That of course is boxing’s heavyweight division.
For too long now the heavyweight division hasn’t seen the glory that it once had. The combatants such as Lennox Lewis, Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield have been shown the door and in their place is a cavalcade of larger than life, imposing Eastern Europeans and Russians. Not saying they aren’t fit to do the job but the division just doesn’t get the attention that it deserves and I believe this is the fact. Also doesn’t the American boxing community take pride in having a competitive, charismatic fighter to get behind and also having a little bit of the home town edge.
Kimbo is obviously the perfect candidate. I mean we’ve all seen the street fighting videos, he talks with his fists and can obviously take a punch or two. Also now he has obviously gotten the training from Bas Rutten, he knows how to take care of himself and hold himself for a fight.
Also if he is looking to make money, what better place than boxing. I mean the sport is a money maker and Kimbo Slice with his internet fame is a bankable name already. He could have a sizeable career in the ring making millions of dollars for the big fights. Would you tell me you wouldn’t pay for an East vs West battle between Wladimir Klitschko and Kimbo Slice. The greatest heavyweight fighting today against the toughest mother fucker on the planet (in my opinion.)
Sure I am probably living in fantasy land and there is no way you could lure Kimbo away from that MMA cash cow. I mean it is extremely popular and he is doing very well here just starting out. I just think the man could save boxing for everyone and could do much better for himself in the boxing ring.
Either way I look forward to seeing if the man will beat Tank Abbot on February 16th. I am calling it a total knockout as quick as possible in Kimbo’s favor. Tank Punches hard but I think Kimbo is a new breed of animal. If I am right, I think it just proves my point that he is the toughest bastard walking tall right now. I think it also proves he could just take punches in a boxing ring and prove to be the best.
