Cotto – Mosley

Miguel Cotto

Right now Miguel Cotto is on top in the fight according to ESPN. Because I’m too cheap to pay $50 on a PPV that isn’t a guaranteed “show” I’m relegated to the web to keep up with the fight. My money is on Cotto, I mean hes undefeated and hes the WBA welterweight champ. It’s hard to go against something thats perfect. Unless of course it’s anything having to do with a Boston team or the New England Patriots. Then of course you need to be against it in full force. The fights coming out of Madison Square Garden.

Also I might say this, I’m a boxing fan through and through. I respect the guys in MMA and UFC but to me it’s just too much. Boxing to me has always been one of those classy sports, upper pedestal and full of great stories. UFC is great athleticism but it seems to me that the stories behind the fights are nothing more than a step up from pro-wrestling. Also I hate the idea of having some sort of storyline worked up for months on end and then finished in a matter of seconds because of the brutal fighting. It’s good to watch when you’re blood drunk and I would never want to get into a ring with those guys, but for my money I’ll always enjoy a good boxing match. No matter how much it gets tainted by money and promoters.

UPDATE:

Miguel Cotto has defeated Shane Mosley by unanimous decision: 115-113 (twice), 116-113 according to ESPN.com. From what I could tell it was a hell of a match aka the match everyone hoped it would be.
